Ready for a break, mama? We all know it’s hard to get away from your daily routine and leave your kids and husband for a weekend. But guess what? You don’t know how bad you need it until you DO IT! Last October, we took a weekend, just us girls, to get away from the everyday grind. Williamsburg, VA was a perfect destination for a girls weekend and you have to know why!
So, you want to earn a passport stamp? Without hesitation, I will become your biggest cheerleader in this pursuit. But if you’ve never ventured outside of the USA, I can understand why you might be hesitant to take that next step. That’s why today I am excited to share my experience and advice in planning your first trip abroad.
All couples have “their place” right? Carowinds is one of ours. Just minutes south of Charlotte, straddling the North Carolina/South Carolina state lines, Zach and I have turned to Carowinds for MANY a day date. We have the absolute best time together! We share so many laughs and so much excitement from being flung in the air at maximum speeds. We love our alone time to ride all the big rides but have also learned to love Carowinds with toddlers. They love it too! (Thrill seekers in the making. 😉 )
I don’t know about you, but I’m the mom with a million things on her brain at all times. Whether it’s meal-planning, scheduling the babes’ days, operating a side hustle, or dreaming about the next time I can take a shower in peace, my mind is always running.
Within our group of friends, we made a promise that before we departed each trip or occasion, we would plan our next “friendcation” to give us something to look forward to. So back in November, when we celebrated “Friendsgiving” in North Carolina, we decided everyone would come to our house in Jacksonville and take the kids on a day trip to Disney in April.
It’s safe to say Hawaii is one of the most enchanting destinations in the world. I’ve been to four of the Hawaiian Islands, and each is spectacular in its own way. And while we know it’s romantic, and full of adventure, I’ve been asked plenty of times… “Is a Hawaii a good place to vacation with kids?”
