My dog loves to travel. Brad and I take him everywhere. As P2M’s resident “Dog Mom,” I wanted to showcase some of Caesar’s adventures, and share a few of the must-have items we’ve found worthwhile as we raise this on-the-go German Shepard.
When you find out you’re pregnant, exercising may not be the first thing that races through your mind. No pun intended. This is especially true during the first trimester because it seems like sleeping 24/7 wouldn’t even be enough. It can be very difficult to find the energy during pregnancy to get up and workout, but for me (and so many others), it was SO worth it.
Did you know it has been estimated that the average human being has around 50,000 thoughts per day? (That’s insane!)
You may not have realized the scale of that number, but have you ever considered the kinds of thoughts you allow into your mind? How many of the 50,000 are positive? How many are negative?
As I write this, Maddie is officially 38 weeks old—exactly how long she was in utero. “38 weeks in, 38 weeks out.” I’ve been fortunate enough to have an amazing breastfeeding journey with her these past 8.5 months, and while I never envisioned going beyond a year, this weird part of me isn’t ready for it to end in a couple of months.
Is it because she’s my last baby? Is it because it’s actually kind of easy this go-round? Is it because breastfeeding is literally the only thing allowing me to skip the gym AND burn calories? I guess it will remain a mystery… 😉
Dads don’t get it done like moms.
You know what I mean, right? As moms, we usually have a lot to juggle. We carry babies in our arms while leaping through the toy filled terrain, dodging feet debilitating metal tractors and plastic baby bottles to answer the phone, fill up a sippy cup or diffuse an attitude bomb of a threenager; all while making sure your roast isn’t lighting up the oven like the 4th of July.
You know the feeling…The one where your heart is going to explode because you love your children so much. There really aren’t any words to fully express how much love and joy you feel for your kids. It’s truly unfathomable. Such great love for our babies also brings about great protection for them too. Enter: MAMA BEAR.
Have you ever carried a screaming child out of Target? Or had a philosophical debate with an opinionated toddler about wearing pants? Or rocked yourself in a corner in the fetal position because your kid JUST. WON’T. EAT. DINNER?
I remember welcoming our first baby girl into the world and all of the excitement we shared with our friends and families. Along with the excitement, it brought a ton of advice on how to be a parent and people wanting to share their personal experiences. The thing we heard the most, even from strangers, was to enjoy your child it because they grow up so fast. Man were they right!
