Poms2Moms was formed by a random group of five women who decided to create a blog together.
…just kidding.
The ladies behind Poms2Moms WERE complete strangers 12 years ago until the decision to attend Appalachian State University brought us all to the small town of Boone, NC (pop 17,120.) Little did we know that cheerleading at ASU would also bring us close teammates, invaluable friendships, and three back-to-back-to-back National Championships. Oh, and this epic beatdown at The Big House.
But I digress…
After graduation, we all went our separate ways “off the mountain.” Some of us got married, some got jobs, some went to graduate school… but one thing remained; our friendship.
We started a group text (14 alum strong!) and still talk to each other every day. We frequently meet up, celebrate holidays, and make a very deliberate effort to stay present in one another’s lives, despite the distance. Now that some of us have gone on to birth tiny team members of our own, we still absolutely rely on each other for advice, vent sessions, and support.
This blog is our way of documenting our journey as mothers and sharing the POWER OF SISTERHOOD with the world. Our goal is to build a community of women from all walks of life, by utilizing FIVE of our diverse opinions, ideas, and experiences. We hope you will connect with all of us – or even just one of us – to share in the adventure of life, motherhood, and #growingthecheersquad.
To building your own squad,
Cayla, Jenny, Kaitlin, Shelley, & Trisha
