One of MY FAVORITE holidays is right around the corner – Easter! Any day that is spent celebrating Jesus, eating delicious treats, being surrounded by family and friends, and dressing the kids up in adorable outfits is beyond perfect in my book.
[ReviewDisclaimer]
I sometimes fantasize about being the cool, crafty Easter Pinterest mom, but for now, I’ll resign to being the average (but overly-loving and passionate) mom with BIG ambitions.
If you also strive to be the cute and crafty mom, but are also drowning in work, motherhood, and, well… life in general, then here are some quick and simple activities and ideas that can help make your Easter simple AND SENSATIONAL!
This holiday is all about Jesus resurrecting from the grave…Ya’ll, He robbed the grave to give us eternal life, and you better believe I want to get my praise and worship on to celebrate it! I value time with my family and friends more than anything, and there’s something extra special about being at church together, especially on such a beautiful holiday.
Duh! What would Easter be without one?
Again, my goal as my little one grows up is to channel my inner craft-savvy side, but for now, I am more than happy to present her with my average Target and Dollar Store Easter basket…and you know what? My sweet 15 mo old is going to love it!
First, what type of basket do you want? Do you want to buy a new basket each year to keep things new and fresh? Are you a person who values tradition, and wants to use the same custom basket year after year? Do you have all the skills and want to showcase them into hand-crafting your own easter basket?
Any way you do it, your child will feel special and love it.
Side note: I recently saw a picture where a mom stuffed all of her kids’ Easter goodies into some fashionable rain boots. #goals.
Second, what goes into the basket is what really matters! Some practical and inexpensive goodies for kids’ baskets can include:
Sidenote #2: I went to the the dollar section in Target and the Dollar Store and got about 10 different items for cheap. Also…
Sidenote #3: I have a confession… *I might have* even dug to the bottom of my daughter’s toy baskets to gather more goodies…and you know what? I don’t feel one ounce of regret dropping those golden findings into Mia’s basket (#momHACK).
THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!
Easter is a great holiday to host a get together or go somewhere to celebrate with others. Whether you have family close by or not, I hope you find time to do something special and celebrate the reason for the season.
Yes, I’m that mom. After having a baby, I instantly felt obligated to document 98% of my daughter’s life because I want to cherish these precious moments forever. I’m looking forward to putting my little one in a cute dress and getting the free-opportunity to take some good family pictures!
Sidenote #4: If you’re in search of a photographer, Charlotte friends, check out my girl, Christina Devinney!
If you guys know anything about me by now, you may understand my passionate love for food. Whether I’m hosting a party or showing up to one…I’m there for the food! My goal this year is to try and bring a little fun and creativity to the occasion, while keeping things simple and efficient

I love your mom hack! I have totally dug through things around the house – stickers, little trinkets, etc. that my kids had forgotten about and stuck them in Easter eggs! My three year old absolutely loves that dollar section in Target. We get stuck there every time we go into the store!

Haha, love it! It’s such a great hack—and the kids don’t even know! I’m convinced that Target is a TRAP. It’s hard NOT to get stuck in that glorious section…every time!
